It was almost a year ago and you were still inside. Your Momma was growing weary with the weight of You, the days were getting shorter and your birth was fast approaching. I knew that everything about my life was going to change; but not how nor did I understand the profound depth of change that you were bringing to us. In the past year you have more than tripled in size, grown almost ten teeth, a full head of hair, learned to walk and talk (you say “Hi!” to everything :) ). You can squat down and pick up your horsey so that you can give give it to me when I come and get you in the morning. When you Momma brings you into the bed and I am still sleeping you can crawl all over me and make me feel excited and warm all over. When you fall asleep on my shoulder or chest you also warm me up inside and I have visions of all the things to come as you grow up with us. When we play in your room you can take everything off the shelf in a matter of minutes ans spread it all over the floor. You now have your mothers facial features and my eyes and ears. Behaviorally you seem to have your Mommas (lack of) patience and her sleeping habits. You really do like to sleep. You are also starting to rock, bounce and do a little bit of dancing when we put music on the stereo. You can also climb everything: me, the leopard skin rocking chair baby bouncers, stairs and the leather couch in the family room. THe other big thing you have mostly learned is how to go down stairs and get off the couch safely. Although, at your Birthday party with Riley the other day you were absolutely fearless when you were playing at the landing on top of the stairs. You were walking right off the step, no, you were running or jumping. It must have been all the sugar you got in your birthday cake. Most of what has changed for me is the insane amount of joy and happiness that you bring to my days. Just seeing you bright smile in the morning is better than the best cup of coffee ever served in the history of coffee.  As I consider all of the new things you will encounter during the day, the things you will learn that are totally brand new to you it is a highlight for my day and I can’t imagine life without having the Hannah Experience.
