Removing Cruft

I have read that design is removing all of the unnecessary elements until only the bare necessities remain. And then, making the necessities look and function flawlessly. I can kinda see that with the results of the punchout site as we are calling it these days. The only elements we are keeping is the navigation, the cart and some product and support pages. If we could only widen the layout and give it some room to breath.
