Idea Muscle

James Altucher recommends practicing with your idea muscle daily. He writes that you should feel it start to get in shape after a few weeks and then after a few months you will have ideas that are worth sharing. Here is today’s idea. Write a scraper that pulls only my resume information from linked in. Using a pre-determined template it uses latex to make a nice pdf version of my resume that is printable. Solar powered water measurement. If you could place (ornamental) sensors around the zones in your yard and, you could (use arduino) to create a mini networking device that feeds a program running on your network. There are two phases here. First - the program collects and reports your water data. Optionally you could feed it a water bill and understand even better what is happening with the water cycle in your backyard. Then, you could feed the data back to arduino running on the sensor’s so that they can maintain the desired level of hydration for your yard. User settings are simple: dry, moderate and wet or spring, summer and fall where known climate data for your region is taken into account for the seasonal setting.
