So I got through chapter three on the rails sample apple book. Its weird, different from php yet related, a distant cousin perhaps, to php and zend. I like the starting with tests instead of tacking them on later. I am at level three on duo lingo spanish and like it. Don’t want to make Duo cry! On the drive up to Winterpark tonight Julie and were talking about several things. One of them sparked the idea muscle for today. Before I get to that though I really enjoyed the time - it was a long week and we did not have a lot of talking to each other. We do this by discussing the new and tonight on NPR there was some political stuff that related to super pacs. Here is my idea. I see them as faceless, negative driving forces that are out for more money and to force a limited agenda on everyone. As Malcom Renoylds says, “I do not hold to that.” The laws say these organizations can exists and that they don’t have top tell us where they get their money. Fair enough, the law is the law. WHat about the people running these funds, they have faces. More importantly they have ties to the current crop of political candidates. What if we could identify the top people who run these things and profile them. What can I find on Google, in the public domain? Can I find a link and give it a weight to one or more people in the current election? Even if the laws say they can exists, we as a society can still tell them that they have to behave and if they have nothing nice to say they should say nothing. They do exist and we should associate them with one or more candidate based on the good old boy relationships between candidates and super pacs. Then we can at least know who to associate all that negativity to - since super pacs can’t be held responsible for negative campaigning the candidate or politician most closely tied to them should. Next steps:
- Find a super pac
- Get as much information from it as possible about the people, the members and supporters if possible.
- Develop profiles on them (progrmetically of course)
- Make pretty and impress(.js)ive graphics that display the bios and relationships between the people and the candidates and politicians.
- Publish this on a site and promote it with google plus.
