Cycles are inevitable. Cycle are recursive and orthoganal to every aspect of life. In many ways they exert a power greater than gravity over the ebb and flow of change or stagnation. From the individual to the social group to the nation state to the entire genome - a cycle of life and death can reverberate for generations.
What do I mean by this? Lets look at cycles of privledge. First, I have to define my own privilege. I am a white, native english speaking male American male who graduated from high school and college (twice). I never got into any serious trouble with the law beyound some traffic violations and minor misdemeanors and I’ve been able to advance my career to a good place, no not that good place. despite changing industries without a plan.
What could have gone wrong? What if I had mad different choices or things had happened differently. Well, lets do a thought experience based on people where I came from that could easily have been me.
