Now that I am using Safari and Firefox a bit more regular, centurylink is hijacking my searches. THis is because I am used to Chromes everything bar that just lets me search from one place. Growing tired of getting redirected to century link I threw this into my /etc/hosts:
## # Redirect silly sites to where I want them. # quest/century link -> google search ## 74.125.225.83 webhelper.centurylink.com
This doesn’t get me a search but it also doesn’t take me to a site I do not want to go to intentionally or otherwise. I’ll have to look at switching to opendns or something like it for a more robust solution when it’s not christmas and there are not games to play.
