What is an innovation lab? Because sciency things come to mind … What questions can exploring answer for them? How do you measure innovation? Ask permission or or forgiveness? Is there cycle (scrum agile other?) to the lab? What’s the first thing you want to explore? Have they thought about an easy way for shop owners to automate the seasonal decoration of their process: theme, coupons or sales and personalization. The owners reflection of the occasion - let them make their own Hallmark holidays. Change their logo like google does for the dates that matter to them. How can an online store make me feel like I do when I go into an apple store to look at their setup? How can the owner focus more on the product and customer and less on the platform? Bubble trouble up to the top for both sides of the transaction and make discoverability of history first rate like what the ‘awesome bar’ in chrome did when it was put in and I could search and navigate from the same place. The life of a front end developer is a fight. A fight to take away everything the page does not need and still send the right message. It takes very little to distract someone from their goal. It takes careful thought and planning to ease them to the goal. The content of the page or app should default to an errorless state with errors integrated into the flow. Errors should be handled or managed in such a way that they are perceived as optional or informative even.
