Off Balanced and Lightheaded

Record keeping for a mild episode the past week or so:

Symptoms

The following give me mild vertigo: - closing eyes and moving head around - standing up fast - looking up and turning my body Hiking baldy had muscle cramps not sure if they are related tho. Have not felt fatigue in the classical MS sense - low energy etc. Observation two weeks after first noticed the mild vertigo:

  1. Still have mild vertigo, may be a little more acute
  2. Tilting head back at work today triggers it (eyes closed / eyes open seems the same)
  3. Noticed vertigo after lying down and going to sleep last night, on side seemed to have a few waves of vertigo before I fell asleep.

Need to decide how much longer to wait before calling Dr. Dudley.

Coping Strategies

  • Sit down until it passes
  • Avoid moving your head or body position
  • Tone down bright lights and don’t try to read
  • Avoid stairs and don’t attempt to drive until you’re sure the vertigo has passed
  • Begin moving very slowly when you feel better.

When vertigo strikes during the night:

  • Sit up straight
  • Turn on soft lighting
  • Remain still until you feel better
  • Vertigo may return when you turn the light off and lie down
  • A comfortable recliner may help

Saw Dr Dudley on 11-18-2014 Main symptom is laying down or sitting up when waking/sleeping causes mild vertigo. A few muscle twitches a day and mild fatigue.
